I've decided to take the most rigorous course schedule that I can in high school to get into an Ivy League. So far, honors classes have been a joke to me (100% in PreCalculus! WOOT!).

Anyway, I was thinking about taking 14 APs my last two years. I am not concerned with the difficulty of the three math courses (AP Calculus AB, BC, and AP Statistics) or the English courses (AP English 11 and 12 are the only ones...).

I do need help with my Humanities/Social Studies classes. I have to take AP US History (for a US History requirement) in junior year and I need three others. Are any courses easier or better alongside another? I've heard that AP US Gov goes well with AP Comp. Gov, but I'm interested in AP Psych too... Does anyone have any recommendations for the top four AP Social Studies courses (and in what year/order to take)? By the way, my school offers the following AP classes:

US History
Psychology
US Government
Comparative Government
European History

AP US was my favorite class in high school. I also enjoyed AP Euro quite a bit.

If you are looking at APs from primarily the perspective of knocking out requirements in college, I'd take US History, Euro, US Government, and Psychology. Comparative Government does not normally meet a distribution/general education requirement.

I took US and Euro in the same year, which wasn't bad as far as the classes went, but the tests were on the same day with one in the morning and one in the afternoon. That was a bear of a day! When planning your schedule, you might want to look at the testing schedule to see if you can keep from doing two-test days. AP tests are really much harder than college finals!

US History and US Government are complimentary classes and what you learn in one will help you in the other one.
