Honestly, you shouldn't ask for others ideas on this. It's going on your body, so it should be something that is significant to you. Every tat I have I put time and thought into. After all, it will be there 4ever. So, think it over carefully, decide what you want, and make sure you have a good artist that is licensed and has examples of his work to show you. Make sure you take proper care of it so it heals properly. I've seen some bad tats just from people not following the care advice, all spotty and faded. Good luck

Be VERY careful when you choose a design and/or location for ANY tattoo. If you don't choose wisely you might end up regretting it later in life.
You definitely DON'T want a "flash" tattoo. That's the crap they have on display. It'll only make you look like you got a tattoo just to get a tattoo.I have 3 of those from when I was younger, and now I'm trying to figure out an original way to tie them all together into a single theme. But my original stuff is kickazz!
Give a great deal of thought to your design. It should portray something that is in harmony with your personality, but remember that you're pretty young.Parts of your personality will change as you grow older, but other parts won't.Pick an idea that is in step with your core personality, the part of your being that will be with you forever.
Your first tattoo probably shouldn't be on the back of your neck. That's a highly visible place. No doubt you're going to want to sport your new tat as much as possible, but remember ...you're young! You may not want that ink showing over the collar of your 3 piece suit when you're making multi-million dollar business deals in your thirties.Don't laugh...It could happen!
For now you should probably choose a more discrete location until you decide that full blown tattoos are for you.The bicep area is a classic location. You can wear sleeves when you need to,and you can go sleeveless when you want to.
Do yourself a favor....don't go into any tattoo shop without already having an idea and an example of what you want. And don't be surprised or dissappointed when they tell you to come back in a few days. That'll give them time to draw up a stencil of your new tat.
The most important thing before you get a new tattoo is to take the time to THINK about it.Tats are expensive, and they last forever.Be smart about this!
And make sure you LISTEN to the after-care instructions they give you.Ignore any advice from anyone else, unless they already have lots of quality inkwork.
Good luck!

For a tattoo that is quite visable depending on how you style your hair, you want to put much more thought into it and not ask other's what they think.
It's something that you're going to have forever, something that should represent who you are, and something that doesn't make everyone who sees it go "What was that girl thinking?"
Neck tattoos are really touchy. I've seen some that are VERY nice and I actually like, while other's make me go "What the crap?! That's dumb."
You should sit down and think about it a little more, instead of asking us what you should have tattooed on your neck. We don't have to live with it, so you might get some dumb suggestions.

You need to find something that grabs you..How I found my was...I typed in Lower back tattoo into yahoo images and just waded thru the images and I found mine there.
Try the same..It really should be something personal..
If you want a word..try asian writting so you know what it means but still sexy, and then it also makes a great conversational piece because everyone will be asking you what it means.

I would find symbols that reflect something that means alot to you and start from there. you can still incorporate a design with words as long as its not overkill on the actual image.
Good Luck
