Amen. I was baptized Catholic, raised Episcopalian, went Methodist when that wasn't working, worked at an Evangelical Presbyterian church, went to a Disciples of Christ Church, and am back to Episcopal. It's just the course of life.
Seeya in Heaven!

It is not so much as a need to label ourselves as to answer a question as fully as possible.
If someone asked me what I believed about God I could truthfully say that I was:
+ A Theist
+ A Monotheist
+ A worshiper of the God of Abraham
+ A worshiper of the God of Moses
+ A worshiper of the God of Israel
+ A Christian
+ A Trinitarian
+ A Catholic
Telling someone that I am a Catholic says all of the above and more.
With love in Christ.

Well said, A Christian is one who believes and confess publicly that Jesus is the Christ, the Death, burial and His Resurrection. When we reach Heaven's Gates, it wont matter what we call ourselves. We will no longer have a label of any denomination. So let's all hold hands and go together!

Pope Eugene IV, in the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441, proclaimed ex cathedra:
"The Most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, also Jews, heretics, and schismatics can ever be partakers of eternal life, but that they are to go into the eternal fire 'which was prepared for the devil and his angels' (Mt. 25:41) unless before death they are joined with Her... No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ can be saved unless they abide within the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church."

You just did label yourself...you are a baptized catholic...but that is not a label hun, its an identification we have of ourselves. Not all of us would include religion in our identification of self...but some do. Nothing wrong with that.

Did you ever really learn the Catholic faith? I didn't ask if you're a cradle Catholic and went to Catholic School and all that..... did you "really" learn your Catholic Faith?
From the sound of your question and comment, I doubt it. If you truly know, and follow, the Catholic faith you would know, without a doubt, it IS NOT TO EACH HIS OWN!

People take on labels so that they can feel part of a group or organization. So they can feel that they belong to something. It's mostly just a defense mechanism...

Unfortunately that is not what Jesus had to say on the matter.

Jesus never said, "to each his own". He said, "follow me". It's that simple.
