I don't know about Hostess.
Little Debbie snacks are produced by Seventh-Day Adventists that promote Not eating pork products so there would be No pork gelatin. However gelatin can be gotten from beef but it's not a plentious. Since beef is Biblically approved there could be beef fat in some of their products.

You can check the ingredients as I did, to find out that they do not contain beef fat or gelatin.
That being said, you could certainly add either one or both of those ingredients if you like.
There is an obscure recipe from the 70's which, if I find, I will send later. The only thing I remember is the name. I believe it was called, "Little Debbie Beef Fat and Horse Hoof filled Snakin cakes".

Gelatin comes from beef too, it is located in between the skin and the meet.
The one used in little debbie is the beef fat located in between the muscles.

Little Debbie and Hostess both use animal products in their products. Most of our processed foods contain overstocked food products that are needing to be used. And the food industry cleverly hides these products in snacks and whatever. Thank God that the biofuels industry is refining tallow for Diesel fuel. Otherwise the tallow would find itself in our food products.
