I don't believe that in Islam they go out into the world, spreading the good news of a Loving God. They have been spreading their beliefs through ultimatums and by force for many generations. It's like either their way, or no way.

That sura expresses admirable sentiment, but words and deeds are seperate. In its beginnings, Islam was most definitely spread by the sword. The Koran doesn't shed any light on this matter, historical records do.
