i have the camon SD600... i took it out of my purse and it wouldnt turn on... so i charged the battery... it still wont turn on... i dont know what to do... i just got this for christmas from my dad and it wasnt cheap... can someone please help me... i dont know what could be wrong

I have the same camera.
probably the battery is prematurely dead
I bought an extra battery at adorama.com
I bought their brand = $19.95
or the battery is in backwards

Remove the battery from the camera, let it sit for a minute. Reinstall the battery and try again. If you can find a different battery, that would help. You go to your local Best Buy and ask to quickly borrow their display camera battery, just to see if yours works. If the camera turns on with the new battery, you have your answer. If not, it's time to break out the warranty information since Christmas was only a couple of months behind us.

If you have made sure to FULLY charge the battery and have inserted it the correct way round and the battery cover is securely closed...then there might be a problem with the camera or the battery (although this would be extremely rare).
The camera is still under warranty, so your Dad will have to return it.
