WOOOT!!! Viva Las Vegas!!!

That's where we got married. I suggested it. I wanted to go through the drive through chapel wearing bride and groom ball caps, but NOOO he thought it would be tacky. Spoil sport. Ah well, we had a nice wedding in a JP's office. Very tasteful.

You won't know until you ask her, Vegas is a matter of some love the idea some hate it. Probably would save you money if you live within a reasonable distances in the US. Not my cup of tea, was in Vegas last Oct, loved the place, would love it for a honeymoon but don't think for the actual marriage ceremony. On passing the little wedding chapels it could have been a queue for anything and those being married within the hotels just after the ceremony, the bride glass in one hand, holding skirt of her dress up with the other prancing through the hotel casino, not my idea of a romantic wedding. However, everyone to their own and if it's what you and your fiancee wants go for it. All the best.

If the future Mrs has spent a lifetime dreaming of walking down the aisle with all eyes on her... then it's a horrible idea. She'll always wonder what a beautiful wedding with all the trimmings would have been like. For many girls, it's the closest thing to being a princess or star that will happen to them. It really depends on your girl. We had a small wedding, and then went to Vegas to rock 'n roll for four days !!!

Well it depends what you want, i mean a wedding for some people isnt about proclaiming undying love its about showing the world what a great party you can throw, weddings for most people are just a way of showing off, if you simply just wana get married cos you love each other and dont give a damn if people care or not then go for the vegas wedding . .

I was the one who suggested a Vegas wedding as a way to keep my family from interferring with my plans. We are getting married on 9/21/07, then coming back home and having a casual backyard/bbq/pool party the next weekend. I'm thrilled with the plans.

I'd be all for it! In fact, when I got married thats more or less what I wanted to do, but he wasn't down for that! After the headache of planning the wedding, dealing with family, and shelling out a ton of cash I think he wished he'd agreed to the Vegas wedding! haha!

I'd go for it. However Vegas weddings can be just as expensive as any other, especially if you go with a hotel package which includes many "unnecessary" things that couples are coming to Vegas to skip, and alot of the packages are non-neogtiable. .

I personally agree. I think that you shouldn't start a marriage in debt for one day. The marriage should be more important then the wedding. I had a bbq backyard wedding and it was relaxed and perfect. Most women think they need that one special day that is all about them though. I think that goes against the concept of a union of two people but good luck explaining that to other women dead set on the big dress and all the hoopla of a big wedding.

It would not matter where the actual wedding was held, the day is obviously more important than what your relatives and friends may think of your choice of venue, food, music etc....However i would hope my fiancee was a bit more original than to choose a vegas wedding, but as long as you do what makes yourself and your fiancee happy , that is all that matters.
