Personally, I hold the belief that potty training a child in a day is nigh to impossible, its also a bit authoritarian and sets you up for potential issues and problems in the future...especially when you start training when children tend to be ready, which is around 2-3. It would definitely work if you waited to potty train around 5. Each child is different. Patience, understanding and persistance is key. Introduce the potty...their training potty..and have it there for them to check out. Then move to waking them up and bring them to the bathroom on a ritual basis...when you go, if you want. And, eventually they will start going on their own. You can move from diapers to "big kid" pants (underwear that is padded), and then move to real underwear after they become a master. (I have NEVER used pull ups, and I don't recommend them...they prolong potty training and kids become lazy in wanting to go to the bathroom--I have observed this in more than one child and in everyone that used and USES (over 5!!!) them.) Praise them for sitting (even if they don't go), peeing (even if they miss but attempt to hit the potty), and poop! YAY!!! Make it as much of a pleasant experience, even if you are at your wits end. They will come around. Good luck!

Yep...and the book needs to be refiled as a work of fiction. Why stress everyone out by trying to do it in one day? I read it and LMAO.

Try this:

Set a date and try to explain to your child, by looking at a calander and point at a date that they are going to start being a "big boy" or "big girl" and start to use the toilet.

Pull ups work like a charm.

Have special potty times during the day...like in the morning and at night.

If your child is in daycare, inform the teachers that they are now starting to potty train and ask them to help by asking the child if he/she needs to go to the bathroom a couple of times a day.

Positive reenforcement is worth it's weight in gold.

Set backs happen. Go back to my first point: Pull ups work like a charm.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i might say no on any new child youthful than 3. yet as your son is now 3 i think of you may desire to be somewhat greater forceful with him, as long as you're useful he's able to coach. while you're specific he's waiting for it (knows previously he is going that he needs to, is uncomfortable in nappies etc) then supply it a bypass. If he's frightened of the potty, or no longer showing warning signs of readiness all it is going to do is create an outstanding greater effective undertaking, so persevere with education yet do no longer actual rigidity him to take a seat on it etc. At 3 i might merely take him out of nappies and positioned him into "vast boy pants". you may have plenty and a large form of injuries and could spend some weeks cleansing up injuries and washing pants in spite of the indisputable fact that it rather is the quickest way for many young infants. maybe evaluate procuring a sparkling potty- enable him opt for one. you additionally can purchase some stickers and enable him beautify it. additionally save a record of once you're noticing he's urinating- if there is any trend in any respect to it take a seat him on the potty a pair of minutes previously this time, you would be able to capture it. Make potty time exciting, no longer incredibly much removing waste- enable him watch his standard video, study sotries mutually, play music tapes. yet I do think of the concern ought to be pressed with him at this age.

Don't believe the title, if it were that easy everyone would do it. It's something we all want to believe and have faith that it will work, but in no way will it. Unless you train your child at age 15 when they can understand better.

Yes I read it and started trying it but it doesn't work. It only stresses your child out and causes crying and difficulties. It's not recommended and I found out later it was only a fad.
