What is a guys take on athletic girls?

I'm athletic, and I'm wondering how guys feel about it. I play goalie for hockey, and I even play with guys but alot of them are quiet with me.

I'm wondering what guys take is on athletic girls? Are you guys intimidated by them or just shy around them or worried their gonna spank you at a "guys" sport?

I'm really curtious about this, and I'm wondering if it contributes to the fact I struggle to get asked out.

I'm not gross and muscely, and I can't bench press more then like a 200 lbs guy. But I can put one into place if needed

I like athletic girls. It is infact them who should be afraid of me spanking them because I know they can take it better. If you can rough it up in bed, that's great news. Athletic generally means you are fit, which is a plus. It also means you have a hobby other than gabbing on the phone or shopping, also great.

The problem is you are trying to be asked out. That's like trying to sell your car without trying to sell it. Some shady character might come by and offer half price on it but that's about it. You need to approach people and present yourself in a fitting manner to get what you want.

Well, although I played my share of baseball, I'm not really the athletic type. To me I like my women to be soft, more so than perhaps you are (I don't know, so forgive me if I am wrong). But that is just me. If you look at some answers here when a lady asks what men like in women, you will get many different responses. Perhaps you need to go out to a gym and hit on some really fit guys. I hear that that sort go for it. I'd say that part of your situation could be lack of compatibility more than threats to guys' egos, unless you are kind of an "in your face" chick, in which case it is entirely possible you might want to pull back a bit.

Heck yeah, athletic girls are hot! I think most guys are intimidated, like you said. I know I am. I mean, a lot of times, guys don't feel like they have very much to offer anyway - then you put that in the mix... It could also be that the guys you play with, think that it might be inappropriate to ask you out. Or don't think that you are interested. That's one of the hardest things about dating for me right now - you just don't know which girls are looking, and which girls will just fly off the handle and scream at you for asking them out. You might have to just take the initiative and ask a guy, or just try to make it more apparent that you are open to the idea.

I think toned athletic girls are really attractive. However if they can beat me at every sport then that is kind of embarrassing. But its great to have a g/f who will play the same sports. If you're among the guys and playing sports they might just treat you like another guy.

Ok. I will be honest with you, but you are probably not going to like the answer. I like girls who are fit and active. Being in shape is great! But I am really turned off by girls who play guy's sports. I am not saying girls shouldn't play sports. What I am saying is that I believe girls should play with girls. I find a girl playing with guys to be sort of pathetic. To me she is not comfortable being girl and instead is trying to be guy. And that is not a very attractive trait. Guys like girls who are comfortable in their own skin, but when a girl is trying to act macho or tough it comes across as fake or contrived.

Some people will tell you the guys are afraid of you or threatened. I really don't think that is the case. I've seen situations were guys will act like they are intimidated by tougher "tomboy" girls because there is a sort of sexual tension there. They will often "go easy" on the girl in sporting situations. Like it or not men are taught from an early age not to beat up on girls. And in situations like yours the result can be an inflated estimation of your strength vs. men. Sometimes the guys will simply be confused by a girl like yourself. They will clam up and refuse to talk to you. They will be thinking: Should I treat her like a guy? Like a girl? And often you will be alone as a result.

Guys and girls are simply different animals. That is why they are attracted to each other! But when a girl is too much like a guy or a guy is too much like a girl, it sort of defeats the purpose of male-female realtionships.

I'm sure you are a great person, and I know you probably don't like this. Maybe some guy may think differently and ask you out. Also, I've seen girls like you generally become more feminine as they get older. So, maybe just wait a while. Good luck.

I think a lot of guys tend to feel at least a bit intimidated by athletic women, while at the same time feeling turned-on. Athletic women seem to be really into the physical side of things and into their bodies, and the mere thought of this is a turn-on to many guys.

This kind of simultaneous turn-on plus feeling intimidated can be kind of confusing for a guy-- and this probably accounts for your observation about how guys tend to be quite with you, and hesitant about asking you out.

you look pretty hot to me, I'd rather have an athletic girl than a couch potato anyday. alot of guys hate to lose to girls in anything, so your'e always going to get that. Maybe the guys in your area are sissies if they won't ask you out.

Well my girlfriend play rugby, the mostly manly sport i can think of (makes football look like a bunch of girls) and i think she is gorgous, amazing, sexy, funny, intresting, beautiful, amazing amazing amazing!! Athletic girls are the best!! As long as they dont have huge muscles then its pritty gross . . .

well i guess i don't mind any type off girl, i think that other guys playing football with the lads, shall i say , that they might not get involved with you because that they are with the LADS and most off the guys might not be individual people they tend to follow the crowd, since you are the only girl. but to me , from looking at your picture you seem quite atractive, i wound go out with you , lol,
