No. Often, praying helps sort things out. God is the best person to turn to in order to sort your life out. I mean, after all, he DID create the universe. He made us, so why wouldn't he know how we work? I admit that I believe in God and pray every day. However, it is not a waste of my time. It is the most important thing you could ever do in your life. Praying brings you closer to God, and at the same time, helps you have a close, intimate relationship with God so that you are able to tell him everything. You don't have to sort your life out before you come to Christ. He sorts it out for you. Please consider why all these people are answering the way that they are. Maybe what these people are saying about prayer being a good thing is something you should listen to. Have an open mind.

Obviously you do. From what source did you get your opinion that prayer is a waste of time? It certainly changed my life and the lives of many I have prayed for. The Bible says, "The prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much." It also says, " You have not because you ask not".Those who ignore God generally get exactly what they ask for - nothing. The day you find yourself backed against a wall with a knife in your back, I suppose you'd think it a "waste of time" to pray at that moment?

There is no such thing as "wasting time praying to God"! God gives us the freedom of choice. God is the life! We walk in this life with God. Read the Footprints! This will help!
As for people saying "I will pray for you". I think it is extremely nice and thoughtful. Believers in God are not supposed to judge or say hurtful things, they are to say, " I will pray for you". That is much better than saying something rude or hurtful, or feeding into the disagreement! They aren't looking for acknowledgment of praying for someone and the user that said such, I will pray for you! God Bless!

Unfortunately, no. I find that praying doesn't waste my time, I can do it for as short or long a time as I want (often longer, because I have many things to say), and it gives great benefits such as direction in my life, shows me what God wants me to do - and often what God wants me to do turns out to be the best choice after all - and overall, my relationship with God keeps me VERY organized. *grin*

yes. They need to stop praying and start doing.

They also need to stop the condescending "I'll pray for you" when they type stuff to us because if they really wanted to do that, instead of just smacking someone in the face and baiting and trolling, they'd just do it instead of expecting praise for it then saying "I didn't do anything wrong" if they expect to be taken seriously instead of as the trouble makers many of us consider them.

not @ all, perhaps you are the one who needs sorting out. God provides the way.

I do think they should put more effort into solving their own problems.

But if they are being proactive *and* pray for the sake of their own comfort, I have no objection to it. We all have ritual that in and of itself means nothing but brings us comfort.

Without prayer, life is chaos in this world. Just watch the news.

I sorted my life out by moving into the light rather than out of it! I will pray for you.
