I have had the usual cold symptoms; runny nose, tiredness, coughing, sore throte, and stomach aches. My mom is just like, "Here, shelly, just take a dayquil!!" It doesn't really do nothin. Besides, dayquils are like giant. Find them hard to swallow. I really want to get better.

You need to go to a doctor. Something that lasts that long isn't right.
Good Luck & I hope you feel better!

Wow, haven't you gone to the Dr. yet? That's a long time to have a cold. If the fluid coming from your nose is clear then it's a good chance it's from allergies. If the coughing and sore throat are centralized in the larynx area then it could be tonsilitis. I can't believe your mom is telling you to take Dayquil. This is just treating the symptoms not the cause. As for the stomach aches, I am not sure but there could be a reflux condition happening which will actually cause coughing and runny noses.
If you are a smoker then it's really not uncommon to have very prolonged colds as smoking keeps damaging the body and not healing itself enough to let the virus out.

If you smoke that could cause you to keep a cold a lot longer, but to have a cold for three months is a little extreme. And stop taking dayquil, it's not healthy for your body to use any medication, unless prescribed by a doctor, for an extended amount of time. You need to go and get a checkup.

Allergies are often mistaken as cold symptoms. Colds do not last for 3 months. There is a good change what you are suffereing from is a seasonal allergy or are allergy to something in your environment.
Try to think back to when it first started. did you recently purchase anything new like bedding, pillows, get a new pet like a hamster or cat? Did you make any changes in your home or workspace that might have begun exposing you to something that was not previously present.
Best bet is to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician and have them check it out. It's not difficult to diagnose and if it is anything else you of course would want to be treated for it

The only help I have ever gotten with a cold has come from large doses of vitamine C. 1000 to1500 Mg's. Drink a lot of fluids with it and you should soon be fine. (you can take more than that, it you work up to it, as your body will dump everything you don't use. If your kidneys start hurting, cut back) Good Luck. Ibuprofen will help the aches. Chow

You likely have allergies, not a cold.
Go see your doctor for better treatment. Dayquil is not enough. You need better medication than that specially formulated for allergies, not for something you don't have.

Colds normally last 7 to 10 days, it sounds like you have allergies. Go to your doctor.

Sounds more like an allergy, best to get yourself to a doctor.
To help swallow tablets, either break in half, or quarters, or crush and mix with something nice like yoghurt or jelly.

Nobody has a cold for three months. You really need to see a doctor. If your mom wont take you then get a trusted adult to talk to her or take you.

You could have some allergies, or it could be something worse. I would suggest you see a doctor.
