I have a great recipe I want to make, but since I haven't cooked with an avocado in probably seven years, I'm not quite sure how many I would need to make a cup if I mashed them up. Thanks!

A cup is 8 oz, so just use one of those scales in your grocery store when you go to buy it. Remember that each pit weighs about an oz and a half. Two average sized avocadoes should be fine, but you might want to buy three just in case. (And if you end up with an extra, just eat it with some soy sauce, it's great!)

I would say 2 if they are large and 3-4 small ones.

I large advocado will make almost a cup of mashed advocado.

I find that as a dip 1 cup mixed with onion, tomato, chille or jalapino pepper, cream cheese, lime juice...makes enough guacamole for 4 people with corn chips.
