Do you mean it crashes consistently or is consistent after a crash? There's a difference. :)

Microsoft claims SQL server, at least the most recent versions, as having a number of high availability features like mirroring and failover clustering.

Of course you can always lose data, and a backup of a consistent database is insurance against losses due to a crash.
