my mom has been getting stricter with me lately? im currenlty 13 any ideas why shes been more stressed out or its seemed lik that? why shes gotten stricter?

she is worried that you would go out have sex, get drunk, and use drugs. now that you're a teen she is just lookin out for you and trying to keep you away from those things. its a mom thing. she's just worried.

Have you been doing anything to make her feel this way? I'm not saying you have. I'm just asking. I know as a parent when my children (now grown) would do things I thought were irresponsible we tended to bear down on them harder. I would say the very best thing you can do to improve your situation is to sit down with your mom and ask her and don't blow up or talk sassy to her even if it seems like you want to. If she has an "attitude" with you, CALMLY tell her you prefer she not use that tone of voice with you. Also, it will calm her down in general if YOU are responsible to tell her the following:
1. Who you are going out with.
2. Where you will be.
3. How she could get hold of you.
4. When you will be returning home.
5. That you will call if you will be late. (and then do that)
6. Who your friends are and why you like them.
7. Share a few feelings and some of your interests with her.
This will go a LONG way to destress her and the situation and make your relationship with your mom so much better. Give it a try honey. You'll be so glad you did.

Probably because you are a teen now. Usually when kids hit the teens they get more rebellious, hang out with new people, and/or start doing things that they shouldn't be doing. Your mom is probably trying to nip things in the bud before anything starts - she's not being mean, she's just trying to do the right thing and keep you out of trouble.

Parents get scared their teenaged kids are gonna do drugs, join gangs, shoplift... Just be a great 13 year old like most really are, and she ought to relax eventually.

all mothers get stricter sometimes. they become nervous and more stressed. don't be so sad and angry with her. you must get closer from her and know what upests her in you or any another thing.be patient and she will be calm soon.
