I did call.. they said it doesnt matter. I think it does. Just like people there are spots that are less tender than some. I am just trying to spare him some pain. He has been through enough already

Ask your vet if these injections are supposed to be IM (intramuscular - in the muscle) or SubQ (subcutaneous - under the skin).
IM injections are usually best given in the hind leg. SubQ injections are usually best given in the loose skin at the neck.

the best place is in the back of his neck as there is more loose skin. unfortuneatly for youre dog he needs more than normal pets and being so small i can imagine he doesnt have much loose skin. you can give injections in the loose skin over his chest but understand if youre not confident as it took me a while to get used to injecting. take him back to the surgery if youre struggling and just ask if one of the nurses can demonstrate to you the different areas you could also practice there just using saline. just remember to rub the area after you have injected to disperse the drug properly under the skin.

just like menlo said. the least tender spot is on the back of the neck. all you do is grab a little loose skin and inject sideways. its very painless for your dog

The vet has to tell you. Ask them where they would give it. Then, find a new vet.
