First of all, where do you live? I would really suggest that if you have to give them up you find a no-kill shelter or a rescue group that would take your dogs, put them in foster homes, and adopt them out. I can help you find one of these places. A humane society can only hold so many dogs for so long. What kind of dogs are they? There are breed specific rescue groups who will travel to get your dog if you need to let them go.
There are products you can buy to spray on the yard to discourage digging. My best guess is they get left outside to long and are bored, so they dig. Spending time with them outside, walking them and running off their energy is a great way to get the digging to stop. Feel free to contact me if you need help with this. Jst2funlvn@yahoo.com

I hate to say it, but I think in this situation, everyone would be better off if the dogs were taken to a shelter or given away to someone else.
It sounds to me like these dogs are presently a nuisance. Not just to your parents whose yard they dig up, but to the neighborhood as well. A dog that is always barking is a nuisance - if your neighbors complain about the nuisance barking, your parents can incur a pretty hefty fine for that. And dogs that are getting out of the yard and chase people are a danger and a liability - even if they've never bitten anyone yet. None of your neighbors should be subjected to your dogs running loose and chasing them. And your dogs shouldn't be in a situation where they run loose and might get hit by a car or get into fights with other dogs, either.
It's just not a good situation for your family or the dogs right now. Dogs should not be kept outdoors in the back yard - especially if you can't trust them not to run away. They definitely shouldn't be tied or chained in the back yard. That's just cruel.
Do the responsible thing and find them good homes where they can be members of the family and will be well cared for. If you can find someone nearby to take them, you might be able to visit and play with them, too.

guys its not her fault don't be mean...i feel bad for ur dogs...u don't say how old ya are but i'm gonna guess ur old enough..to train them it not that hard just go get some training book at ur library and start working with each dog apart....they are bored wouldn't u be if ya got chained all day? maybe u could get a part time job...or something.
ask ur parents to give u a chance at training the dogs (which they should have done in the first place) if u really want to keep them you'll at least try..and remember ya win some ya lose some....if u lose u went out fighting to keep them. patience is what ur dogs need... good luck

They very well could. When I was younger we had 5 dogs. 1 would jump through screens, 2 always ran off and dug out of the yard, and 1 would chase my neighbors sheep (he was a herding dog but the neighbor didn't appreciate it). One day my parents got sick of everything. My mom put all 5 dogs, even the one that was behaving, in the car and dropped them off at breed rescues.
(To anyone that reads this, my dogs were trained. We lived in the country, the one that jumped through screens only did so when we left, he hated to be home alone and had seperation anxiety. The ones that ran off were hunting dogs with lots of energy and prey drive.)

Your dogs aren't being cared for very well. Tying up dogs is very bad for them. The U.S. Center for Disease Control studied dog bites and found that tying up a dog is one of the top reasons for dog bites. There are ways of solving all of the problems you are describing but your parents don't seem too interested in doing those things. Since you are young and your parents aren't serious about taking good care of your dogs, maybe finding new homes for them would be best.
Go on www.petfinder.com and try and find shelters that will help find a good new homes for them where the people will take better care of them. Humane Societies will take dogs handed over by their owner and unless the dogs have a history of being aggressive (and yours don't sound that way) or they get very sick, they won't euthanize them. If you help find a good place for them to go now, your parents won't just get mad one day and take them to the pound where they may not be given much time.
By the way, you sound more responsible about your dogs than your parents.

I hope your parents don't take them away. You know if you want to be sure of that then you should train them or get a proffesional trainer. I suggest a trainer because it might be a bit hard. If your dogs are trained not to bark or dig then you should be able to keep them.

Perhaps you can pay special attention to the dogs needs more they will change their opion.Like go out and scoop up the poop in the yard and bag it to put to the curb.Fill up the holes in the yard .Offer to help out with with feeding and taking care of them .Speak with the vet about the digging out perhaps he can give helpful advice on the phone because they have heard it all.Maybe offer to do chores in leu of dog food for your dogs. If you really love them, you will work to help save them.I hope it works out!Good luck!!!!

It is obvious that these dogs are not a good match for your family and its lifestyle. The best thing to do for you, your parents and especially the dogs, is to take them to the local Humane Society. That way they can be placed with families that are willing, able, and prepared to love and care for them properly.
