i have the guns and the power unit but i was wondering if you need a lisence to purchase needls and ink and grips and stuff.

there are no requirements for purchase of equipment in PA...I dobut other states have requirements. SOme states license tattoo artists, in other states, anything goes.

Oh good God! First of all, if you were an artist you would not say gun...guns kill people - we use tattoo machines. You don't even know what the flying frick you need to buy!!!
Reputable supply companies require you to prove that you are in a professional tattoo studio - hang it up!!! Get a legitimate apprenticeship!!

No. I believe not. My friend has tattoo equipments ( no license needed)
