when you see a stray dog on the side of the road that needs help and you know you can not do anything for them???

Call your local humane society and tell them the location of the dog and they will help the dog out.Yeah, it's sad to see a stray dog like that, I always cheer myself up by giving my dog a long hug and an extra treat. A way to keep dogs like that off the street is to spay or neuter your pet to prevent overpopulation.This way their will be a home for every dog and none left for the streets.

I never see that where I live but I bet it is sad for those who do. There is actually a shortage of pet dogs where I live. If somebody sends their dog to the pound it is usually adopted by the next day. No dogs are ever killed at our local pound unless they are vicious and can't be placed. Cats are the ones who need help here. There are waaaaaaaaayyy to many and most of them get put to sleep!

I would feel guilty yes. I do make it a point to call someone or attempt to get the dog myself. I foster for a rescue organazation therefore I have the means to find a place for the dog until it is claimed or adopted. Please dont leave them, call the humane society or another rescue organazation. Animals need us to help them, and they dont know what "traffic" is. Just like little kids!

YES!!! it really upsets me bad and i sure can't take them all in or i would! i do call and report seeing a stray and i have brought some home till i found the owners!

yes i do. and it really makes me miss my own dog at home. i hate still being too little to do any sort of volunteer work for them.
