That is so sad... but you can't get over the grief instantly. It's happened to me before, I was completely devastated. I say to let it all out in the easiest way possible. I understand how you feel. But if you're getting rid of him, just think, it must be a good and responsible reason. The greif will pass, eventually.

It also would help if you told me why you're getting rid of him/her. If (s)he is being put to sleep, remember it will end their obvious suffering. If you just can't have him, think he will have a nice life wherever (s)he ends up. Either way, getting a new kitty helps a lot. (it helped me)

Unfortunately there is no way to instantly get over the grief of losing a cherished pet. I say embrace the pain, cry, remember all the fun you had together and with time it WILL get better. Time is really the only cure here. Just think though, with every tear you shed it's a credit to how much joy the cat brought you. That's actually a cool thing.

Oh im really sorry and i have a great way to get over it. Here is a story: There is a rainbow bridge that crosses between earth and heavon. Your lovely cat is now walking over it happily. When she gots to the other side she sees a beautiful piece of land with other animals and humans. She finds many new friends. She thinks about you daily and misses you but she is having a great time. One day when ou pass on you will reunite with your beloved friend and you will both be very happy. Now just remember that she is not gone for good but one day you will get to see her again and you to two will be back to your normal ways!
