My friend started IMing him and she flirted with him just to see how far he would go. Long story short, he said that he needed to sleep with other women, that he still loved me but felt that he was getting older and wants to be with more women than he has. My friend "suggested" that they meet up and he said he would look at his schedule and get back to her. They "agreed" to not tell me (she did, of course) but then she says that it was all play and I shouldn't worry because she would never do that to me. I believe her. Not sure about him... Should I confront him or just brush it off as harmless flirting? She lives over 300 miles away from us so is not like she's accessible, but just to think that he even considered it makes my skin crawl!

No, don't waste your time with this fool. If he loved and cared about you he wouldn't be trying to shag your best friend and disrespect you. He wants to eat his cake and have pie on the side. Dump this inconsiderate clod.

Any man who entertains the thought of another woman, especially your friend, is up to no good. Cut your losses. A relationship without trust is not a relationship. I know it's not what you want to hear, but sometimes it's best to live through the pain now... rather than later.

Setting him up like that is kind of unfair, but nevertheless, he was basically considering and possibly planning cheating on you. That seems to bring serious questions to mind.

I'd confront him and see what he says.

if he is under 25 or so...it is only reality that he wants to bang bang bang...thats why young people and relationships do not work...im sure he might like you...but the head down there wants what it wants...and that would be a serious amount of the 'vag'...just understand that, and dealing with it will be that easier.

He was yapping about things doesn't mean he was going to go through with it. How many times have you heard how he wants to kill someone and not do anything.
