I am 19 years old and I work with this guy "James". He is so amazing. I tried not to get involved with a co-worker, but I have never met anyone like James before. James is about 22. Anyway the problem is he dosn't know I'm alive and spends all his time flirting with another girl, Ashley, and she flirts back. Ashley just turned 18. I just don't understand. She has a boyfriend, but she still won't leave James alone. I have been trying to accept that he wants to waste his time with her, but I can't. It's the classic, she is so wrong for him thing. I really don't want to be bitter about this. I actually like Ashley. Sometimes it is so hard that I don't want to go to work because they will be together. What can I do to get over this?

I dont think your jealousy is geared towards him but towards her. She is very outgoing and you seem kind of shy. Hes paying her attention and acting flirty with her because shes giving him the same in return. Talk to him ask him to a movie or something. Its all fun and games im pretty sure they know theyre wrong for eachother, he probably doesnt even have feelings for her i mean HELLO she has a man. Take some initiative and ask the guy to a movie its the millenium its okay for girl to ask guy.

jealousy is one of the worst emotions you could feel besides anger; but it seems that you just need some attention from someone you think is awesome. I think you should go up to him and casually start a conversation, but just make sure you don't get fired for talking for too long, so try to talk some more during your break. If you guys have to same break then that would be even more awesome because then you could ask him if he wants to have lunch with you and then you guys could exchange numbers or e-mail address. Why don't you try and be brave and start striking up conversations with James yourself. Not in a flirty way, but just a care how is day went kind of way? There is nothing you can do about being jealous, expect that when the feeling comes on you, just ignore it and get your mind on something else.

You have to know, flirting with people at work takes away from the your production and can lead to you losing your job. If he likes Ashley and she has a boyfriend indicates he is just out to play around and he saw in her the willingness to play around also. Be lucky he did not pick you.

I feel that if you really like this guy then just let him know that you think he is cute or flirt with him a little just to see where it goes from there...you sitting around being jealous isn't going to stop those two from hooking up...if he doesn't like you it will help you get over it ..you cant get over it because you don't know if he would consider even dating you so just go for it girl its not gonna hurt to flirt..

Listen, girl, the only way to not be hurt by feelings of jealousy is to not care. And how does a person do that? For you, the answer is simple. You have got to get out and find a guy for yourself, one you can love and who will love you more than life itself. And he is out there, looking for you! Work is not everything in life, in fact at the end of life it is looked upon as of little consequence to those who have lived and loved. Go find yourself the right guy.
