Hey there. How are the mosquitos in early April? Are they a problem? Would a visitor need to wear repellent?

I hate to wear that stuff but it's better than getting eaten alive.

Thanks.

Hi Tony,,,

Ok coach,, listen,, we have mosquitoes almost year round in the South,,lol... they are not bad in the cities,, but if you go outside lke camping,, yeah you want to spray down..

We have an encephlatis outbreak in the South, you do not want to get bitten and infected.. ok.... chances are you will not,, but if you go out in the woods or what ever,,, use the stuff with DEET in it....

Good luck and have fun.....

Just take you some anyway. New Orleans gets a lot of rain. After a good rain is when the Mosquitoes get busy. Those are Swamp Skeeters though...they are immune to Off..LOL Eat bananas...my grandmother used to feed us bananas during the summer to help repell the mosquitoes away. It sounds crazy but it works. Something in bananas is a natural repellant

they happen year round, more so in may thru the summer, i used to see them more at night then during the day but when i worked at six flags they were always around but that was next to a swamp so that is probaly the reason, bring some dit "Deet" and u should be fine

Anytime the temperature is above about 50 degrees and you are around non-moving water, you can expect mosquitos. If you are going to Louisiana, and aren't going to be in the cities, expect to get bitten. They have mosquitos year round. I lived there, I can attest to that.

My paw paw and cousins all go hunting deep in the wooded swamps - the skeeters are thick like black smoke, there's gazillions of them and they're huge! What they do is use Avon's Skin So Soft lotion, it works great for some reason. A lot of hunters have this Avon lotion in their camps.

I don't know about the bananas thing, but I know for sure - DONT eat pineapples, they make your blood like candy.
