I BOUGHT A 2004 HARLEY AND WYO. WANTS TO SALES TAX ME FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. THEY NEVER SHIPPED IT CUZ WE PICKED IT UP. IF I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS DOING ACCTS. PAYABLE WE DID NOT TAX THE SHIPPING AND HANDLING. PLEASE CONFIRM. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. ICYWOLF

Some states do, some don't. It's not a vendor option - the vendor has to follow his state's rules.

A few states assess sales tax on shipping and handling charges. Others assess it on the handling charge alone if it's separately stated but the whole charge if it's not broken out. You'll have to consult with the individual state tax authorities to see what's taxed and what's not.
