if my grandparents (gaurdians) tell me to, but my mom says I'm 17 and I can do what I want?

Thats right........you can do whatever you want if your 17 or older, im 17 and i dont have to be babied around so do what you please!

Your parents may have their opinions, but they gave up the right to legal guidance when they gave guardianship to your grandparents. Seems like at 17, you should have some say in some things like how you wear your hair, BUT legally, as long as you live under their roof, your grandparents have their say & it would be best (at least for now) to do as they wish (or at least compromise, with a professional styling... the girls will love it!) Good luck! I know how you feel, but please remember that your grandparents want what's best for you. If they didn't, they wouldn't be your guardians, as that in itself is a life-changing responsibility, so they do care for you... keep that in mind. Before too long, when you're out on your own, if you STILL want to grow your hair long, go for it. My guess is that once you have it styled, you may like what your changed image has done for you & you may keep it that way. But when the right time comes, it'll be YOUR decision.

Well generally its said "my house, my rules" so if you are living under your grandparent's roof, and they are footing the bills....you should abide by their wishes. Your mom's opinion, while valuable, doesn't compute if your grandparents are the custodial "parent".
Get a job, if you aren't in school. Pay your own bills, then you can do as you wish.

long hair on a guy isnt really attractive, but its your choice, your to old to listen to your mom and defenitly your grandparents. think it over and hopefully you'll choose the write decision!
