I have Afro-like hair but it is completley straight. The only problem is its too poofy to deal with especially my bangs. I need help to bring the poof down at home and put it up in a cute hairstyle.

I don't want a perm to make my hair curlier.
I already have a stylist but its too expensive and too far to go to weekly.

I know exactly what you mean. Personally using an anti-frizz serum does wonders. Use a good deep conditioner, Lustrasilk Tea Tree Cholesterol works really good and it comes in a fairly big jar for really cheap. You can find it at Sally's beauty store or possibly your nearest beauty supply store. Use this after using your normal shampoo. Allow to sit in hair covered or uncovered (and by covered I mean a shower cap) for 5 to 10 mins. After rinsing out the conditioner apply Proclaim Glossing polish. You can then blow dry your hair out. You should comb your hair with a wide tooth comb during the blow drying process. After hair is dry, use a large CERAMIC flat iron or a big barrel curling iron (about 3/4 inch, if your hair is at least ear length, if it is shorter than that you should use the flat iron), use the highest setting that your hair will tolerate. After all of your hair is curled you can roll it up or wrap it if you know how to wrap your hair.

to wrap your hair comb the hair around your head in a circular motion (either to the left of right, which ever suits you best). hair should be completely flat against head (wrap you hair up with a silky scar). to comb hair down the next day: just comb hair all the way down and part how you would normally wear your hair.......HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Straighten it with a straightening iron. I reccommend Remmington wet to straight, You can get it al Wal Mart for like $25. Good luck!

Why don't you just shampoo and conditon weekly. Do a hot oil treatment and wrap your hair.
