Depends on what you mean by religious. If you mean he is a Christian, then if you are a Christian you should thank God, if you are not a Christian you should ask Him to tell you about the plan of Salvation. If he is just religious, that takes in a lot of different false religions, again if you are a Christian find out what religion he is and do the same, either lead him to Christ or ask him to lead you .
