Peter Luger's is my favorite restaurant.

Peter Luger's. There are two locations Brooklyn, and Long Island - I've been to the Brooklyn location. They definitely have the best porterhouse around. The prices are high, the service is so-so, the menu is small, the decor is... lacking, and bring cash because they don't take plastic. Oh, and even with reservations you can wait about an hour to be seated.

I love Ruth's Chris - the filet and the strip there are out of this world and the menu has something for everyone - even a vegetarian. They have got great food, excellent service, and the restaurant itself looks wonderful.

If I am going to spend a lot of $$ I want more than reputation.... But If you just want to try it to see what all the
fuss is about - that's a good reason to go.

I've eaten in the Brooklyn restaurant. It's fantastic! The best steakhouse outside of Manhattan. The ambiance is that of an old fahioned steakhouse; if you want to waste your money in Applebee's, TGIF, or Ruth's Chris, then go ahead and I hope you enjoy portion-controlled foods.

When you go to Peter Luger's, try the tomato and onion salad. It's great. And, as mentioned before, bring (lots of) cash... No plastic...

I ate at Peter Lugar's once and I think it is overrated. Food was good, but service was so-so and the atmosphere isn't the best. For an overall awesome dining experience at a steakhouse, try Dylan Prime.

Yes, but to me, it is not worth the drive out of Manhattan. I personally prefer Delfrisco's on 6th.

Peter Lugar's is ok. I think they melt way too much butter on their steaks. I also feel the place is lacking ambiance. (I know it is an old historic building, but for those prices, I don't want to sit in uncomfortable chairs.)

Just my 2 cents :)

I ate there once, found it to be totally overated and I agree with the other person's negatives on service, butter, wait and decor.

Personally I like Keen's Steakhouse.

Peter Luger's was a little disappointing. Ruth's and Old Homestead. Heck! I even thought Longhorn was better. LOL!!!
