It will remain on your report for the normal reporting period that you had with the original creditor.
If it was a credit card it will stay on for 7 years from the date you first became 30 days late and never brought the account current leading to the charge off.

You can always request that the collection agency delete the negative tradeline they have placed on your reports upon payment.

Echo has it 100% correct-- its 7 years from the ORIGINAL DELINQUENCY. Not the date you paid in full OR the date that the collection agency first reported it.

However, the date that it usually falls off on its own may end up beign 7 years from the first date that the collection company showed up--- sometimes the bureaus dont know what debt it was linked to. You may need to dispute it when the time comes!
