have been kinda seeing this guy for a bit we text each other alot. On saturday night i saw him and we ended getting a little close went to a party together and he said when i went home wed go on a date this week (he also said that when he was not drunk!) then i text him today and his message went like this 'sorry bout the other day babes proper ill, didnt recover till monday!! at the races today yeah its gorgerous? losing all money though!' why did he not ask me out on a date should i ask him? what shuld i say!!!!!!!

Don't go chasing after him. Just keep on like you were before. We all get a bit carried away with the occasion sometimes, and this might have been one of those. On the other hand, he may have meant it, but thinks you might not have, and regret it.
He sounds friendly enough from his text.
Just play it out and don't expect too much.
Us men can be pretty thoughtless animals sometimes.
Just hope he kept some money back from the races to take you out.

Babes - ask HIM...men can be soooo stupid and not see whats under their noses - it sounds like he is still in ' mate / friend' mode and has not geared up that extra notch yet - you need to bump him a little in the right direction....send him a text saying - i really enjoyed the other night - lets meet up this week and why not make it a date?...or something like that .... you have made your point thenand if he knocks you back you can move on but keep him as a friend - goodluck :)

Perhaps you could say something like.... " How about we have a picnic, my treat" and see how it goes.
It might just be he has been under the weather and does not want you to catch what he had. And or it might be that he want to save up and take you some place nice with his winnings at the track but things did not work out.
