I have joint custody of my daughter and live in Florida. My ex just had a baby from another father which she claims head of household. Is there any advantage to her claiming both kids under head of house hold. Or, is it to our advantage for me to keep head of house hold on our child and she keep head of house hold on the newborn?

Did your daughter live with you for more than half the year? If not, you can't claim head of household due to her, even if you can take the exemption for her this year.

There are many factors involved with claiming HOH. If you decide to let your ex claim HOH, then that means that you could not and the tax implications for you may be higher. If your child lives with you for more than 6 months per year and you are her major care provider, then you have the right to claim HOH.
Your ex, if she marries or is supported by the other father, would not have this right.
