Go with the Z710 instead, about the same price and a more current model. Appx $200.
Also check the comparison at the link:

Kodak 8197774 7.1 Megapixel Z710 Zoom Digital Camera

Features 7.1 megapixels
30" x 40" prints
10x digital zoom Schneider lens
2.0" indoor/outdoor LCD etc.

NOT good at movies!!!! If this is important, chose a different camera like the Olympus or Canon A series.

I don't have an opinion, but go here and click on "In-depth review" and "Read Owner Opinions" for the camera. Be sure to note that the reviews are many pages long so you don't stop after page one. Check the sample images, also. You can enlarge these to full size images if you click on the link below the picture. You will have to then put your cursor in the white space to the right of the picture and click once. After that, you can pass your cursor over the image and it will turn into a magnifier. Click it as a magnifier once and the image will go to full size and you can really examine the detail or look for artifacts like fringing or noise.

They rate is merely "above average."

I'd suggest that you also consider the Canon Powershot S3-IS. Compare features in this chart. They have the camera at B&H Photo (available with a link through Yahoo! Shopping) for $332. B&H also has the Z650 for $50 less than Target, if you are still interested in that camera. I admit that this is quite a price difference between the cameras, but...

Having answered several questions in this camera section, one thing stands out to me. Many Kodak camera users, complain that these cameras eat batteries. Often they post here wondering whether the camera or the batteries are faulty. I see this more in Kodak than any other brand.
