How stupid can they be? Wouldn't they live righteously? I mean he was there with them and yet they still sinned. Doesn't really make any sense. You think without question they would do what he told them and be in awe of his presence or something.

Because they were people then like we are today. God dealt with them then too. Free will to do what we want still applies today as it did then. Nothing has changed.

Look around,
People still disobey even when they know God is watching. He is (I think) more with us today. But many people just say that there is no God. If they feel there is no God then they can do whatever they want.
Kinda sad if you ask me!

Why do teenagers get caught having a house party or parking in the woods? Why to little boys never think to take their shoes off after playing in the mud before coming in the house?
Every child has the capacity to understand God for who he is. As adults, we seem to ignore or forget that, but keep the capacity to displease Him.

Adam and Eve was created by God(JEHOVAH),as PERFECT HUMANS. So,when they committed the first sin by eating"THE FORBIDDING FRUIT in the"GARDEN OF EDEN,that God told them not to eat,their punisment for doing so,was DEATH! You see,ADAM and EVE was supposed to live forever,but because they disobeyed God,they had to die. Also,ADAM and EVE became IMPERFECT because of their sin. This was all due to SATANS influence. Anyway,ADAM and EVE had offsprings,and they were born in SIN because of what their parents did. So,from ADAM and EVE time,up to the present time,all mankind is imperfect and born in SIN,due to our first parents ADAM and EVE. So,that is why men don't live righteously back in the OT or NT,because of SATANS influence on mankind. So,if you mean to do the right thing,serve the true God,JEHOVAH and free yourself from this wicked system of things.

I would think that you would be in awe of his presence too but apparently that is not the case. God was not literally with man in the Old Testament any more than he is with us today. Spiritually, yes but physically, no.
