My husband had all of four dates between the time he was in high school and the time we got together when he was 39. He had 'sex' a total of two times, and those were both only 'sort of' sex ... I 'won him' by being his BEST FRIEND first, and by 'having a long talk' when I got 'confused' about whether he was 'being romantic toward me' or 'was just that way' ... he was just that way, but that opened the door. We've been married for ten years now ... he's not my 'first' guy, but he's definitely the LAST and THE BEST EVER. What got me was when he was taking me around and introducing me as his 'fiancee' all of the women 'friends' he had looked like they'd like to KILL ME ... because they would have liked to 'trip him but land under him' ... but I WON because I was his BEST FRIEND.
There IS 'someone out there' for you, but maybe you should do what my husband did and 'stop looking' for a woman and just 'be' for awhile ... because then and only then will women stop 'bullsh....' you and become 'real friends' ... and one of these days, one of those friends will 'turn out to be' YOUR 'one and only.' It may happen in two weeks, or not for many years ... but it CAN'T HAPPEN if you 'look like you are looking' ... it can only happen if it's RIGHT ...

I'm a bit concerned about how you phrased this: "It's hard to find women that are interested in me"... If that is indeed what you are searching for, then you need to ask yourself what it is that you have to offer that is so interesting? YOU may find your own activities fun and interesting and even may have social merit. But for a relationship, you need to allow room for YOU to be interested in HER. Stop looking for the puppy that jumps the highest and start looking for a woman that draws YOU to HER.

Maybe you give the impression of trying too hard. You need to relax and realize that the best things come to those who wait. Perhaps that girl wasn't good enough for you anyway.
It does not matter what age you first have a date.
And what's wrong with being single?

Don't give up. There are many kinds of women out there. It sounds like you've been going for only one kind. Try a different type of girl, not just another girl.

I'm 35, and I've never had a relationship. I'm not giving up and neither should you.
