I wouldnt make them.
You dont have to use the vanilla..It is just a flavoring, in fact you could substitue another flavoring like almond if you wish.
But not having butter would mess up the consistency of the cookie. I think if you left out the baking soda they would not rise properly as well.

You could substitute margarine for the butter and some other flavoring in place of vanilla. Baking soda? It's cheap. Go out and buy a small box to have around. And it has lots of other uses besides baking.
On second thought, maybe you should just take a short shopping trip and pick up what you need. This way the cookies will turn out really good.

Instead of the butter You could use oil.any kind of oil will work. I do it all the time and it works fine. Just be sure to use a little less than the recipe calls for.
If the recipe calls for 1 cup of butter, use 3/4 cup of oil.
If the recipe calls for 3/4 of a cup of butter, use 2/3 of oil.
If the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of butter, use 1/3 cup of oil.
if the recipe calls for 1/3 cup butter, use 1/4 cup oil.
For the baking soda, I would use baking powder. Use 3 or four times more than the recipe calls for.
For the vanilla, Use almond extract. If you don't have that, just leave it out.
Good luck baking!!!

You could probably miss out the vanilla extract and the baking soda but I would say you need the butter.
Do you have margerine, that would work.

Margarine is full of water so your cookies could get runny. Try using half margarine and half Crisco in place of the butter. And instead of vanilla you could use another flavoring, like maple syrup.
Also you can try using 4x the amount baking powder if you have it. It won't be perfect, but it's worth a shot. You could also skip it and eat flat cookies.
