I would venture to say not as many as are killed by the manufacture of synthetic fabric clothing, although that's an opinion, and I have no facts to substantiate it, other than Lake Erie.

You need to differentiate, as well, between animals killed for pelts for clothing, and animals killed for pelts for adornment. There are still areas of the world where using animal pelts for clothing is necessary.

It depends, what kind of animal and what it is being made into. For a coat possibly one or two bears depending on size.
