Since your question sounds sincere, here is the answer:
People can only repeat what they hear and learn, and that includes people with TS. Sometimes a person with TS will speak "regular" words. My personal opinion is that it is linked to the OCD that can accompany Tourettes. There is a need to hear a sound or particular word.
Here are the types of vocal or phonic tics:
Vocal tics can also be utterances of inappropriate, undesired statements or obscenities (coprolalia). This is a very rare symptom and not required for a diagnosis. Most patients never display this symptom.
Single sounds, such as throat clearing, barking, and sniffing, represent simple vocal tics.
Verbalization's (the expression of words), including coprolalia, echolalia (repeating of the words of others), and palilalia (repeating of the individual's own words) can be considered complex vocal tics.

Not everyone with tourettes swears!!! Some people don't even have verbal symptoms. The words aren't random - they are gen the most inappropriate thing at the time, so sometimes that's a swear word. Tourettes is a serious condition that's v hard to live with n goes a lot deeper than saying a few random swear words.

Tourette symdrom isnt a swearing disorders. Its a disorder which causes sudden and uncontrollable outbursts. The words can be random or it can be a word that the person recently heard. The words can also be linked to that persons thoughts and/or emotions. A person with tourettes may not even necessarily have a speech "tic" it could be caracterized by physical or facial twitching as well as uncontrollable motor skills (movement)

just because they have TS - doesn t mean that they have to swear. There are many "tics" that they could possess. Like facial twitches, touching, licking, blinking, punching. all kinds of things - my little brother has ts AND adhd! what a lucky family

tourretes isn't just about swearing uncontrollably. It may take other forms like uncontrollable muscle spasms, a need to self harm to do something totally out of character etc.
