Drink a lot of water for several hours before your exam. Don't go crazy, you want to be well hydrated, but not dancing on one foot cause you have to pee ;-)

Try to relax before hand. Mentally visualize the song you are going to sing. "sing it in your head".

Most of all, have fun with it! I know it's an exam, but singing, IMHO comes from the heart, not the throat. Feel confident, concentrate on the sound, listen to it carefully, and revel in it.
Hear every note clearly.

This is one exam in your whole life, and ultimately not as important as the performances you wil give, and the joy you will give to people who hear you. Put it in that perspective, and you'll do great.

If you do all of this, you'll be less nervous, you won't think about a dry throat, and you won't get one.

i know you suggested you imagine it would not artwork, yet have self assurance me, drink a lot of water, particularly basically earlier your performance. no longer eating water can in undemanding words make concerns worse. Water with ICE works o.k., and basically sucking on an ice dice works too. As a singer, you likely know this already, yet do no longer drink milk or have some thing dairy a minimum of 24 hours previous to appearing. Dairy products set off the glands on your mouth and throat, and therefore produce more beneficial mucus and a lot less saliva, that can impression your making a music and make your throat and mouth dry. like you suggested, it might want to easily be nerves. you should truthfully warmth up earlier appearing, and take deep breaths. Say to your self "i visit do it. by ability of the accurate of this evening, i visit have shown a majority of those folk my present." this can make you experience more beneficial useful about your self, and per chance calm those jitters. instead of wondering "Oh my God, i visit't attempt this, there are sooo many unfamiliar faces obtainable, i'd particularly no longer...." , you want to stay effective. imagine "Wow, i'm about to bypass out and do some thing very few human beings get to do. i'm so fortunate! no longer in undemanding words do I actually have a good present, yet i'm fortunate adequate to be able to share it with others." sturdy success, and that i desire you the finest in each thing that you do. =) God bless, Emily

I've been in several musical plays at my college. The singers I knew all used mint tea sweetened with honey to soothe their throats. The also avoided chocolate as well as dairy on performance days.

Do not eat chewing gum. Or chew it, either.
Stretch around loosen yourself up. Jump around before you go to your exam. Tell yourself that you love to sing, get yourself in the moment, and just sing! They aren't judging you. Well, they are, but not in the waty you think.Keep your techniques in mind, and go at it! Make sure you know your song so well that its not a problem.
