I have had two brand new style renault clio's, but both have the same problem. The handbrake warning light comes on whilst the vehicle is in motion, on the dashboard but the handbrake is completely off! Taken the vehicles back several times but renault fail to listen to me. They have changed the handbrakes, wires to and from the handbrake, the instrument panel...everything you can think of! Please help me... Surely i'm not the only one who has discovered this problem on 2 of the NEW SHAPE clio's! unless i'm a very lucky person!!

To let all you renault drivers know there is a problem with the new style clio.... the instrument panels are all faulty and renault in France are in the process of making new panels for each car that has already been purchased. should you have experienced this problem contact your renault dealer so they are aware and you get your new instrument panel.... they are to be delievered to dealers early 2007.

It'll be the position of the switch underneath the handbrake.

Your dealer may have replaced the switch, but if its in the wrong position, then its not going to make much difference.

Take it back and insist that they try and fix it. If they cannot then reject the car. As stated, trading standards or citizens advice will be able to help with your rights as far as this is concerned.
