If you are embarrassed to be around your friend, then I would say you are not much of a friend. Find friends you are comfortable with..

obviously you can't be a great friend or instead of calling her a nerd, and being embarasses to be around her, you'd be hanging out with her and telling anyone who messes with her that she's your friend and a good person. sounds like you aren't a good friend...then again i may be wrong.

your best friends a nerd, and i bet your not a very atractive bird! only joking, but i dont think thats very nice, thats your best friend what kind of friend are you, talking about her to the whole world, nerds are cool, as are geeks, intelligent people rock! i wouldnt bother trying to be like her you will only embarras yourself, by trying to become something you are not!!

Why are you embarrassed? Be what you are, and accept your friend as she is, also. To me, friendship is accepting the people for who they are, and if the way a person is dressed makes you feel uncomfortable, you might reevaluate your motives for that friendship...
