Talk about what you like to do, what they like to do, the good things about your job, ask about their job. What you'd like to be doing in the near future. Maybe a good movie you've seen lately. Maybe some traveling you've done and places you'd like to visit someday. Maybe some current events, or politics if you're intellectuals, but avoid debate! be yourself, have fun!

Ask the date all about themselves - appear interested and curious about their favourite foods, tv shows, likes and dislikes in general - try and keep away fomr EX partners - politics etc....if you appear interested in them they will like you more - its very flattering to them - allow them enough chance to ask YOU some questions tho - if they dojnt gently guide them into what YOU want to discuss - such as a hobby you have that you think you could share - say - hey i LOVE go kart racing - do you?-----anyway - if they dont aks you anything maybe they are shallow and not right for you - a first dates always a great way to aks a lot of questions before going any deeper---- dont sleep with them tho LOL - it gives a bad impression I think ;)
enjoy your date.

You can email me anytime you like I know its rough out there!!! I've been married 2 times and I am now dating a wonderful man. I would start the conversation out with what his phylosophy is on life or what kind of movies and tv shows he likes, music. You know that kind of stuff. Dont ever go to how much $$$$ he makes. You can ask him what he does for a living and stuff like that if hes happy where hes at, etc.

You will learn that most people like to talk rather than listen. So feed him questions, then sit back and listen to his answers.
Everybody loves a listener.
But don't wind yourself up worrying about chat lines, you will just end up tense and the atmosphere will be unnatural.
Just be natural. But ALWAYS laugh at his jokes - every man likes to think he is amusing, even if he is not.
Just enjoy - good luck !

Ask them if they like what they do. What they enjoy doing. Or use the Actor's Studio questionnaire:
What is your favourite word?
What is your least favourite word?
What sound or noise do you love/hate?
What job other than your own would you like to have/absolutely NOT like to have?
They also ask "what turns you on/turns you off" but they mean it in a nonsexual way. For a first date, you'd have to rephrase that unless you really want to know sexually.

That's easy. Ask questions about current events. Sounds sly but you would be surprised on how the conversation goes. Talk about school, work, hobbies, movies, etc....
Bottom line have a great time on your date.

The 2nd date! Anyway, it's a date, not a job interview. Don't make your partner feel uptight and weird being with you. You're suppose to have fun on a date. If you're not having fun, what's the use of being there?

You can't really force a conversation. If you two click you won't have to worry about what to say, it will all come out naturally. but for starters just to get things going, ask him if he has ever been incarcirated.
