I have a MAJOR fear of baloons. And I mean major.

I've had this phobia of baloons ever since I can remember. Whenever I go to parties that i'm invited to, they always hide the baloons because they know i'm afraid.

I stopped being friends with this one girl because she popped a baloon in my face. OMG, I had a panic attack and had to leave school, I literally cried the rest of the day and couldn't sleep.

One time, me and some of my friends decided to help me overcome the fear. I tried to touch a baloon, but as soon as I touched it, it popped!!! I was so scared that I ran out of my house and down the block crying. Just writing this makes me shiver.

I'm even scared of pictures of baloons, even cartoon ones.

First I want to say that that was terrible what your ex-friend did to you. Some people mistakenly think they can 'snap' people out of a phobia buy plunging them into what they fear most. Unless that is part of therapy and done under the guidance of a trained professional, it often makes the phobia worsen.

That being said, yes I do have some phobias myself.

Aichmophobia- Fear of needles or pointed objects.
Aviophobia or Aviatophobia- Fear of flying.
Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns.
Cynophobia- Fear of dogs or rabies.
Dentophobia- Fear of dentists.
Illyngophobia- Fear of vertigo or feeling dizzy when looking down.
Lyssophobia- Fear of rabies or of becoming mad.
Pathophobia- Fear of disease.
Verminophobia- Fear of germs.

Well is not that serious or so i think, depending on what type of phobia; i have this one, that I'll call it more of paranoid; my favorite or so i strangely say, is sleeping, just don't feel like i will wake up and fear of just sleeping and that's it, I'm done.
But as i always say, it's all in the mind don't listen to it, ignore because as little as they could be, they almost in most cases end up becoming something big. Thought it's not as simple as one, two, three, but its good enough to try to get rid, or just ignore and face yourself; face a bad downfall. You and only you are the one responsible for thinking about it and why, relax, take a deep breath and just live with it; that is if you can't get rid of it, one of the best Psychologist in the world is you.
Well that is what i would say, too try to find more about situations and other who have somewhat about the same or similar. Too i think the actual word, meaning phobia begins with a G or something that doesn't come to my mind now; but really does not matter that much!

when I was four I saw the movie JAWS with a friend. It scared me A LOT! I am 13 now and DEATHLY afraid to go swimming, go into bodies of water, be alone in a pool, anything that has to do with being in water (other than a shower or tub) I'm afraid of. I went to the ocean with my friend and her parents to look for seashells, we had to go accross some rocks and I fell into the ocean... it was only up to my knees where I fell...but i started crying and shaking and flipping out. I was so scared! Trust me I know how you feel!.

I have a fear of spiders, but I suppose that isn't that weird. Oh, I got a good one. I hate things that grow or stick to other things. Like moss and mold, and vines. Also leeches, octupus, starfish. Anthing that has those little suctions on them or just grows on other things. I really really hate it and can't stand to look at it. If mold grows on food that I have in a container in the fridge, I just throw the whole container away. I can't stand to see it long enough to wash it away.

I went to elementary school with this girl and she had the same phobia. I felt bad at how horrible she was teased. Odd how the mind works. I think you just cant help what you fear.I think a phobia is just part of what makes you who you are.

How mean of that girl to do that to you. I'm not sure if its a phobia but I have these compulsions to pull out any eyebrow hair that is sticking out, loose, bent, anything wrong with it I pull it out. It can even be SOMEONE ELSE'S eyebrow and I will try to get it.
And squeezing other peoples zits. I am always trying to pop peoples zits. I also get my own pimples. I dunno its weird I know but I dont know what to do
