Pen Chewers?

What does it say about a person's character if they constantly chew on a pen? I have this new guy at work and he chews through a plastic pen cap per day. Its sort of disconcerting, I mean, is this guy going to go postal on us? What gives?

Haha. Well, even though Sigmund Freud was a littly nutty and a huge coke head I belive his theory on this subject.

Freud belived that much of who we are started as early as one week old. He said that when a baby recieves too much or too little oral gratification (i.e mother's breast, bottle, binky, ect.) durning they're first weeks of living, they will grow up to be one of two things: oral aggresive or oral passive. Frued used this theory to explain things like smoking, pen chewing, nail biting, ect. It's hard to explain. Yet, your buddy at work could have been one of those kids that recieved a binky, mom's breast feeding, bottle, ect. everytime he cried. Frued belived that as we get older, people with too much oral gratification need to put something in their mouth everytime they are stressed or just to comfort them.

I hope I explained it well...
Basically, this kid was probably a momma's boy.

OK well i am a pen chewer. I mean to say that pen chewing is a habit just like chewing nails and others. Sometimes i just cathc myslef chewing my pen. No way if he goes postal its probably not because he chews a pen.

People that crew pens creep me out. Unless it's a brand new pen and no one else used it prior. Some people can just throw it right in their mouth and crew it, regardless where it came from. I guess I am a germaphob!

I chew pens when I'm bored and don't realise when I'm donig it ! Gives me something to do in Spanish

I will bet if you asked him, he recently quit smoking. I went through a box of Bic pens!! It is the feeling of having something in your mouth
