It depends a lot on your age, total weight, current level of fitness and your metabolism.
It also depends on how hard you are willing to work out, how consistent you can be about it, and how well you can stick to a diet.
If you haven't been working out, it will take a while to get into shape - the bonus is your body retains a lot of water, and when you first start working out and sweating a lot, you can drop a few pounds pretty quickly. If you continue to work out you will notice some strange things happening with your weight, because as you add muscle (which weighs more than fat) you won't seem to be losing weight as fast. Ignore your weight though, because the important thing is getting yourself in shape - you will notice yourself looking leaner and more muscular (don't use a lot of weight if you don't want big bulging muscles - stick to lighter weights, and do more repetitions instead). Building muscle is the key - because it actually burns calories even while at rest, which will help you drop even more weight.
If you've got some cash, join a gym, and consider getting a personal trainer. They can keep you from wasting time doing the wrong stuff, and can help motivate you to continue working out. When doing it on your own it is easy to plateau - so you have to decide how serious you are.
Look seriously at your diet, because just eating less won't necessarily help you - your body will slow down its metabolism when it notices you eating less. Instead, eat healthy foods, drink fruit juice instead of sodas or energy drinks, avoid anything with sugar in it, and obviously no fast food.

you still have to eat food to lose weight but it has to be healthy food
you cant cut down your calories too low if you do your body will think it is going into starvation mode and not lose any weight
try to just exercise a little more and eat the same as you do now i lost 5 lbs this week so maybe you can lose it in 2 weeks
or less good luck
