there is this boy that I liked for about two years. Then we moved and then I guess I just had the hots for him. Well, now he is one of my friends on MySpace and he is always asking how I'm doing. I think I'm starting to like him again. The thing is, he is 5 years older than me, lives across the country (but not for long) and is my brother's friends. I want to know if I should tell him that I at least USED to like him, if I should tell him how I feel now, or if I should just keep my mouth shut. He's single, and according to his profile, looking for dating/serious relationships. But will he think of my as "my friends little sister"?
I would give names, but, It's the internet...anyone can read this.

1: my brother knows I think he's cute, but he doesn't know the whole story.
2: I'm not looking to do anything illegal, just possibly more than friends.

How old are YOU? Saying that he's 5 years old means a lot of different things.
If you're 20 and he's 25, would he be interested? Sure!
If you're 15 and he's 20, would he be interested? No.
How does he feel about you?
I would hold back and just become better friends. Stay friends for at least a year and just learn more about him.

First you should talk to your brother. As much as people might say that it's none of your business your brother might straight up not have it. In that case, there's no point.. either he'll lose a friend, or your brother and you will fight. Then perhaps bring it up.. Five years is quite the difference, but i don't know how old you are to say if it matters or not. If it's illegal i'd say don't go for it at all.

When you say a boy is five years older than you, then you should let us know how old you are. For example if you are 13 or 15, then it would make a difference. But if you are say 20 and he is 25, there is nothing wrong with that. You could let him know how much you miss him and see how it moves from there.

But I agree with the girl that put the question about age difference. 15 vs 20...
If your both adults (over 18) Go for it! You have nothing to loose. Sounds like he likes you too. And you have an advantage over any other girl since he knows you already.
This is a new century... I think girls should make the first move, this isnt 1907.

Keep your mouth shut, play it cool, continue to be his "friend", but stay in his "field of vision". 5 years older is a big age difference when you are in your teens. But when you become adults, it's nothing at all.
Some of the best and most lasting relationships began from a true friendship.

Off limits for 3 more years...if it's meant to be...it will. I let my crush go...he came back 4 yrs later...he chaged too much and I didn't feel it anymore. This might happen to you as well. At a young age, ppl mature a lot or not at all from ages 15-20, 20-25, 25-30...you get it. Good luck

Girlfriend, if your all grown up, your not the same little sister. I would recommend discussing it with your brother, seeing as its his friend. If he gets heads up first, it won't hurt their relationship. He may know something about his friend that would make him not want to see you with this guy (like, he cheats, not saying he does, but your brother would know...) Also, big brother might be able to pave the way, you know, kinda try to scope out where his friends thoughts, feelings and intentions are, before you go out on a limb. If it were me, I would try to go for it.

You could jokingly mention...youused to have a crush on him and laught about it to see how he reacts! Then you could proceed from there, I don't think 5 years is too old, as long as you're over 18. He might see you as his friend's little sister but he might not, if your bro is okay with it, then it might be worth a shot if he's coming back around your are, otherwise, long distance relationships are difficult!

It depends-are you both over the age of 18 and single? If the answer to both is yes, then let him know your feelings. If not, stay his friends little sister.

I would keep my mouth shut for a while...wait until you see him in person and its legal. just be careful because he is so much older than you. when you both are in your 20's, the five year difference wont seem so important.
