OK... I weight 145 lbs. and I am 5'3". My goal weight is atleast 110. This summer I am going to run around my highschool track (2 laps) every day of the summer with my friend. I'm going to do other things like sit-ups, push-ups, etc. but, I would like to know (just an estimate or something) how much weight I could possibly lose by doing the 2 laps around the track every day. Thanks in advance. :)

First off...what is the magic weight of 110? Would you be happy with 130? Don't put a weight goal of 35 pounds like that. You're already fine. You may have a LOT of trouble losing that much weight on a small frame.

Since you're going to be working out (two laps isn't that much in the scheme of things) you're going to be gaining muscle while losing fat. Don't be surprised if you GAIN weight but lose inches.

Also, what is the diet consiting of? Don't cut calories. Eat well (veggies, fruits) and eat in moderation.

Also remember not to drive yourself too ragged. If you end your exercise completely exhausted, you're not going to be doing yourself any favors.

If the track is a standard sized track, 2 laps is only 1/2 mile. That should take you less than 10 minutes and only burn about 50 calories. You need a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound. So 2 laps, even daily, is not going to make much of a difference. While 2 laps is a good start, you'll want to build up to a longer workout for a bigger calorie burn. You don't have to run the whole time, you can start with walking and build up to running, especially if you are out of shape. Also, you will want to watch what you are eating. If you eat too many calories, you won't lose weight no matter how much you work out.

I would say that from much experience, this depends on how fast you are running. The faster, the more calories are burned (just like gas mileage and cars, the gas used goes up exponentially the faster you drive).
Personally, I would throw in some "stadiums", whereby you go up and down all the steps in the bleachers next to the track. This will really burn calories no matter how fast you go, and it would tone your legs and backside. Do 1 "stadium" with the 2 laps and I guarantee you will see results.
Also, don't kill yourself if you miss a few days here and there. I lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks doing something similar only four or five days a week. But, I am bigger than you, so I would say you will lose about 15-20 pounds over the summer if you are not in good shape already (ie you can't jog both laps all the way). If you are in good shape, you may lose less. But, hey, just remember, if you work out, you will look great, no matter how much you weigh.

Two laps isn't a whole lot of running. To maximize your burn I'd recommend the following:

(Stretch first)

Jog 1/4 of the track, then sprint the next 1/4.

By sprinting, I mean sprint, not a decent run. This will elevate your heart rate and you will burn more calories.

Repeat the above until you've run two laps. In time, you will begin to increase to three laps or more.

Lastly, losing 35 lbs. in just a few short months is very tough. Eat properly and ensure your fluid intake is up to par.

it depends on how much you eat. if you eat right with well balanced meals and correct portions and drink lots of water, you can lose at least 2-3 pounds a week. you might lose more at first. so if we figure that summer is 8 weeks long, you could lose 16-24 pounds over the summer or more.

I really does not matter if you 2 or 200 laps. What matters most is what you eat. If you maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water then you will loost pounds slowly and safely.
