I wanted to find the right God, so I just started praying four years ago for God to reveal himself to me, whoever he was. I wanted the real God - the creator of the universe - the God of love and truth!

Well, I get on my knees every night before bed and sincerely pray for God to show me himself (however he chooses to do it) I've done this for four years!

I pray first thing in the morning also, while I'm getting ready for work. I got nothing at all, really, except for this deep peace that I was a human and that everything was going to be alright.

I felt an increasing connection to all life and to the world. But no specifics about who or what God is!?

So two years ago, I read through the Bible, and was somewhat compelled, but something just wasn't jiving with my soul, so I read the Koran- same thing!

I read the Bhgavad Gita and it stirred me, and felt more like a philosophy that I could relate to than a God-focused religion.

God, feels more and more like just life itself!

ps. After I pray, it is my habit to sit for twenty or thirty minutes and just listen.

"You got nothing except for deep peace......." There are many in this world who would say that you came awfully close to the face of God. God has promised us a spirit of peace if we will just trust Him. Keep praying, but when you finish praying each day, don't just jump up and head out to your daily tasks. Instead, stay where you are for a few minutes and give God the opportunity to speak to you. You have been doing all of the talking. Like God tells us, "Be still and know that I am God".

i've got examine by way of your question and comments two times. You stated which you had prayed interior the call of Jesus, humble and truthful, yet you on no account stated accepting Him as your Lord and savior or confessing and repenting of sins. Please don't be indignant in case you have performed those issues. I purely stated it using fact it fairly is substantial and that i did no longer see that. perhaps I missed it? We serve a God of promise and he's genuine as is Christ however the undertaking is that if God isn't sure by employing covenant with a "believer," he's not any guaranteed to the promise to respond to prayer. God is God and could be merciful and do this if He needs yet till you're "his" by way of Christ, he isn't obligated to respond to, preserve or guard you as is His promise. additionally while you're no longer saved the Holy Spirit can not does His paintings in helping you with faith. Abraham grow to learn by employing God that he may be the father of an incredible u . s . a .. He grow to be an old guy and Sarah grow to be old. They waited and waited and waited. God isn't a guy that He ought to lie. Then got here Isaac. (i think 2 many years after the promise.) you assert which you have considered no longer something that shows that God is. God says He has made himself standard to guy and there is not any excuse. God can not lie. no longer calling you a liar yet asserting you will possibly no longer have observed. Many have questions and doubts--that's not a ask your self to God who's familiar with the initiating and end of each and every human beings. What we predict of and what we've self assurance would not replace the incontrovertible fact that he's. Praying which you do no longer supply up on God using fact He would not supply up on us. only have faith Him. (Proverbs 3:5-6) only right to you. x

You have to get saved, God said He would hear no prayers from a sinner except the prayer of faith. But you first to have faith rather than relying only on what you can see....

When God judges you are you going to say well it's your fault because you never revealed yourself to me?

He already has, look around you, do you think this happened on accident.

Friend, I hate to be the one to tell you but Jesus said "no one can come to the Father but through Me".

You can't pick and choose your religion. This ain't no cafeteria. You either accept God's offer or you reject it but your search for God can't be on your terms! Jesus Christ is the only way! Only way! It sounds narrow-minded ( it is) and old-fashioned (it is) and absolutely prejudice (it is in a way) but it is the only truth!

understand?

you can pray all day, read the bible all night, go to church every day - but until you give up YOUR ideas and humble yourself and acknowledge that you are as lost as a turkey and that you need a SAVIOR, all your efforts to come into a living loving relationship with God are in vain!

god bless

Ask with real intent. In other words, ask with promise in your heart that you will act on the answer you get. Close your prayer "in the name of Jesus Christ." Ask more specific questions. Continue to be patient.

Have you tried reading the Book of Mormon. Read it, Ask Heavenly Father to fill your heart with that same deep peace that told you you are human and everything will be alright. You'll receive an answer. That peace you felt was a portion of God's Love.

It sounds like you have been on your own path. Keep on keeping on. Asking honest questions is far more valuable, in my opinion, than having 'right' answers.

I recommend reading something by Thich Nhat Hanh. He writes very eloquently about his Buddhist experience. Buddhism makes great sense to me, especially when presented by an experienced, compassionate man who is able to capture the essence of his experience in with such elegance and grace.
