If he doesn't want to "admit it", maybe he's really not that into you. I hate to say it, but you may be reading into it more than what's there.
Spend less time with him and see what happens. If he starts contacting you and missing you more, maybe something's there. Just don't obsess over him. That's a quick way to turn anyone away.
