One year old is awfully young to potty train. I have three boys and waited until they were about 2 1/2 before I started. What I did was hung a poster board on the back of the bathroom door, and bought a book of stickers. Every time they would use the potty they got to choose a sticker and put it on the board. We would circle the sticker and put the date on it. The more of a positive fuss you make over them doing it correctly, the more they want to keep trying. At one year old though, its going to be pretty tough to get them to understand any type of concept like that. I'd wait a little longer before trying. Don't be in too big a hurry to have them grow up. It happens fast enough on its own!

Boys are a lot harder to potty train than girls...My daughter was potty trained at 18 months....my son was 3 yrs old. I did not force him at all. He wanted to do it himself and I waited until he was ready. I bought him boy underwear and told him not to pee on superman or spiderman...and it worked because he was ready....I did the same with my daughter. It's not as hard as people think...but you have to understand to do this when your child is ready and willing....

My son is 18 months and trust me when i say its not easy. He takes off his diaper when hes wet and lets me know when he poo's..he has used the potty twice but thats when i put him on it and stayed there with him...otherwise he does not go on his own ..i will sit with him for 30 minutes,i will let him up,and he will go potty right there on the floor after standing up..my daughter was fully potty trained at 14 months,,,no diapers at all..but with him its taking longer and wayyy more effort.i am expecting my third so i get tired very easily with chasing him around to get him on potty etc....they say boys take longer and can take up to 4 years *mine will be potty trained wayyy before that* just keep sticking with it and hopefully he will potty train soon like im trying with mine...good luck!

it'll take a really long time if you start now.he's way to young. where did you get the idea he could be trained at 1 yr? 2 yrs-2 1/2 yrs is the earliest and many boys don't train till around 3. it takes time and patience. put it off for another year at least. you won't get anywhere starting this early.
