I don't think Jesus's show "Jesus and Pals" was canceled. He didn't do too well against Jimbo Kern and Ned Gerblansky's hunting program "Huntin' and Killin'", but the show survived I believe.
Jesus was killed in Iraq trying to save Santa.

Fact is, he got strung up like many, many other "messiahs" of that time. The Romans weren't shy about that
But Jesus did get the gig on South Park, the cool Jesus that is.
