chaos, which is why troops need to be pulled out slowly and sporadically so the "timetable" is not known or that could cause scheduled conflicts and bombings. Even when we leave, we need to be ready to support them in various ways.

I am not at all optimistic ,of world peace or safety ,
should allied troops pull out of Iraq.
As i see it -------
Iran would covertly step in,
with bigger and more deadly weapons and training schemes, for Iraq .
the other Muslim country's, will lend their assistance in this .
( Syria, Egypt, Jordon, Pakistan, Libya, Lebanon etc)
The Soviet Union and China may, side with the Arab world .
This would allow Iraq ,to demonstrate revenge ,and claim their victory , and dance in the streets at every outrage
The people of Iraq will not show compassion , to any of their perceived enemies. ( including their own country men )
Iraq will , blindly follow the ruling Imams , who wield the whips
.
Iraq would let loose huge atrocities, on the free world ,
starting with Israel and UK and America ... but will not stop there .....
Any outrage ,will then be blamed on Iraq .
Iran meanwhile, will feign concern and make placatory noises , to the world -----via the United Nations ,
With a crocodile smile ,upon their faces ( to avoid sanctions )
Nobody will be safe in their homes
WW3 will be a reality
God help us !
and give us the wisdom to deal with this scenario,
before it is too late

1) iraq will go into civil war.
2) the terror threats against the u.s. will be there even if we never went into iraq in the first place so that has nothing to do with it
i love how everyone thinks that once we leave iraq people will love america again. the u.s. in the world power and everyone loves to hate the people in power. george bush was not the start or reason for the terrorist atacks on u.s. soil. the trade center was bombed waaaaay before bush was in office, the plan that brought down the towers were in motion while clinton was president and he was a "soft" president, that proves it has nothing to do with bush or anything else......they hate us because to thier faith we are the enemy and because they have nothing and we have everything.

In Iraq: Civilians will be in more danger then ever. The insurgents are killing civilians and with the US gone they will not have much protection from this.
There will still be terrorist threats against the US. They will not stop because we leave. They hated us before we got there, and they will hate us once we are gone. Unless the nation adopts Islam as its national religion they will always hate us.
And with us gone Iran will move in and take over to start their "Arabian Empire" which will be the beginning of World War III which will end with a lot more than 3,000 Americans dead.

The Sunni and the Shia have been at odds for literally hundreds of years. If we pull all our troops out now, the Sunni in Iran will swoop in and fill the power vacuum left by the US withdrawal, further strengthening Iran and making them think they are stronger than the United States. With the radical muslim extremists that are in power over there, who knows what kind of terrorism would be launched against the United States then?
We probably should not have gone into Iraq. However, we did, and now we can't leave until a stable government is in place.

If we just pulled out of Iraq some new dictator will strong arm the country and be just as powerful if not more so. The country is already down and is very suseptable to a strong leader taking control. The US is never safe from terror threats unfortunately.

The Kurds in the north will separate and try to annex part of Turkey. Iran will have great influence over the Shia (the biggest group in Iraq) and become the power broker of the region and they will control the Staits of Hormuz and hence they will control the Energy market of the world. That is what the war is all about, Who controls the oil. US or Iran....Iraq is just the battleground.

It will be chaos, much like it is now. Iraq was a mess, is a mess, and will probably always be a mess, until the people there decide to change. Look at the middle east historically, they seem to lack the ability to let Israel alone and to work together for peace and stability. The US will have to continue to keep high levels of security in place. Iraq is like a drunk; You can keep holding them up and saying they are okay, but when you let go they will fall on their face until they stop being a drunk.

It will be a bloodbath. When we pulled our troops out of Vietnam, at the instigation of the Democrats, the Vietcong swooped in and killed thousands of South Vietnamese people. We washed our hands of it, but there were millions of people who were trusting us that we abandoned. Also, right now the terrorists are sending their agents to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight against us. If we are not there, they will be sending them over here to attack us. My reasoning is, we were not in Iraq nor Afghanistan when 9/11 happened. We were not in Iraq when the USS Cole was attacked. We were not in Iraq when the World Trade Center was bombed the first time. If the Democrats succeed in voting to pull our troops out of Iraq before the job is done, there will be a lot of innocent people killed, both Sunni and Shia, and it will be on our heads.

Initially, nothing would happen in the US but Iraq would fall apart. It would probably be invaded by neighbors within 6 months of a full withdrawal. Terrorists WOULD see withdrawal as a show of weakness. How they would react could vary, but my personal opinion is that they would take advantage of the situation to solidify their own position in Iraq and to expand their bases...perhaps even grow a bit before they started full scale attacks again. They've expended quite a bit of personnel and support to scare Americans away and they WILL have to rebuild to some degree.
I think it's a bad move overall.

The first Gulf War - we left without finishing the job. Then came 9/11. Do we want a repeat of that day? I say pull the media out of Iraq & let the military do the job they are trained for.
